Zurich Scouts have a very good leadership team. We have six adult leaders and two SITs. Combined we have 80 years of leadership in Scouting. Our ages run in the 30ish, 40ish and 50ish range but we all feel 20ish and that is why we have so much fun. We have one official Troop Scouter but you wouldn't be able to pick him or her out out of our lineup because we all do the Troop Scouter's job and we take turns playing the role. We play the games and work right along side of the scouts. We all enjoy camping, hikeing, bikeing and canoeing and try hard to get all these activities into our scouting year. As far as leading the troop is concerned, we are only the figure heads, because in our troop the scouts are doing the leading through their patrols and court of honour. We are totally into the scout program and give the scouts as much freedom to decide their own course of actions as we can. The scouts look after themselves on camps and trips and the first year scouts might get a little help for the first year but other than that we are only there for an emergency. |
