On
January 16 the & 17 the Bayfield and Zurich's Scouts went on a winter
camp to Kenny G. We hiked along the road and when we arrived at his drive
way, some of us used snowshoes to get to where the camp site was (the snow
was very deep!) when we finally arrived at the camp site, we had to hike
about 2 km to get there. At the camp some of the scouts and leaders made
quinces and the rest set up tents, I had set up a tent and the following
people slept in the tent too, Francis, Nick, Scott, Shayne, Steven, and
Patrick (me) These people slept in quinces Pierre, Dan, Nick, and
leaders Bill, Janice, and Joe, Sheila and Hub. At this camp we were divided
in to four groups Junior ( first year scouts, me) Intermediate (2-3 year
scouts) Senior (been in scouts the longest) Leaders ( well.... the leaders
of course) so in one group some would bring food for a certain meal for
his/her group and then we would cook it together as a group. On the first
day of the camp the senior scouts made a rope bridge which was fun. On
the last day we had a scavenger hunt and we used a compass to locate where
the things were. I found that you have to pack the right clothes and food
to keep warm because some scouts had to go home because they were cold
and they didn't even get to sleep over. Well over all, I had a lot
of fun because I kept warm and ate the right food and I'm probably going
on the next winter camp too.
